End to end by steam and pedal
In July 2008 two of the directors of Aker Qserv travelled from John o’ Groats to Land’s End, raising over £30,000 for the Starlight Children's Foundation.
The fundraising event, entitled 'End to end by steam and pedal', was planned over a period of six months to raise funds and awareness for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Mike Dreelan completed the journey by steam engine in 111 hours and Ciaran Dreelan cycled the route in under 155 hours, gaining significant publicity for the chosen charity and the services it provides. The funds raised by the pair were then presented to the Starlight Children’s Foundation to aid children affected by serious or terminal illness in the Aberdeen locality.
Please visit the Starlight Children's Foundation website for more information about the charity.

Starlight Children's Foundation brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children in order to take their minds off the pain, fear and isolation of their illness and to help strengthen family bonds during difficult times. When it began in 1987, the charity helped just 4 children; today, it helps over 500,000 children every year by granting their wishes and providing entertainment in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.
