Making a difference with JDRF

Aker Qserv has continued its support of medical research charity Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) by naming it their chosen charity for 2011.

The partnership, which began in 2010, has already seen Qserv undertake a variety of fundraising activities in support of JDRF’s search for the cure to type 1 diabetes. These include everything from bake sales and raffles to Raymond Black raising almost £600 by running the Angus Half Marathon.

In September 2010, a team of 25 staff took part in the Scotland Walk to Cure Diabetes, raising an impressive £6,200 for JDRF which earned Qserv a gold award accolade from the charity for being one of the top fundraisers in the north-east.

Forthcoming events include sky diving, a golf day at Carnoustie, sponsored trek across the West Highland Way and a design competition with Qserv’s partnership schools in Portlethen.

Please visit www.jdrf.org.uk for more information about the charity or www.justgiving.com/qserv to support ongoing fundraising activities.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation exists to find the cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications, and is the world’s leading charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research. At a global level JDRF volunteers and staff have been responsible for raising over £850 million to support type 1 diabetes research since the charity’s inception.
