Operations included the deployment of the world's first metal seal straddle packer (at 915ft), which was set against a CT memory gamma ray log to control water injection. Prior to the deployment of this straddle, the access through a failed Inconel 725 FIV ball restriction was successfully confirmed with a tailor made milling assembly.
Another failed Inconel FIV was successfully locked open during an alternative intervention in the same campaign. The FIV was locked open with a large bore flow through shifting tool, a first of its kind, to allow high injection rates and enable logging access. The well was returned to duty with full injection rates.
A unique Qserv CTLF was designed and fabricated to eliminate the risk of uncompensated lifting equipment to enhance the safety of the long BHA deployments. A 30% saving in rig time was achieved with this innovative design. A 50% saving in deck space was also achieved with the Qserv designed modular CT support frame. This design allowed the CT power pack to be positioned below the control cabin.
