During a routine storm choke change out at 1007ft the storm choke was blown up the hole due to and resulting in a wire break downhole. Heavy duty pulling was sourced and fishing operation commenced to clear the wire and recover the lock. The fish neck on the lock was cleared and recovery of the storm choke and lock started. The 2 11/16th Peak UHDF string was mobilised to recover the damaged lock and storm choke to surface. The tool string was being worked at a depth of less that 200ft to start with the jars firing at 6k at surface.

Numerous runs were made with the HD PRS pulling tool and eventually the fish was recovered to surface. This well is one of Lundin Thistle’s best producers and was brought back online in a cost effective manner with no incidents or accidents. A letter from the head of Lundin thanking all of the Qserv personnel involved in the recovery of the well was received.
