Client - ExxonMobil, Location - Beryl Bravo platform, North Sea, UK
Qserv’s first heavy duty fishing operation was performed onboard the ExxonMobil Beryl Bravo platform in September 2005. Operations consisted of rigging up a full 5/16” heavy duty fishing package. The well intervention was required to retrieve a deep set inflatable bridge plug which had previously been set on electric line and had failed to release from the running tool.
The ECRD releasable head was released from the tool string, which left the e-line tool string still attached to the inflatable bridge plug. The tool string and plug were pulled from a depth of 13500ft, with over pulls in excess of 7000lbs. All operations were carried out safely and successfully with no miss runs or downtime recorded. ExxonMobil platform staff praised Qserv’s equipment and personnel for all their efforts in making sure the operation was a success on their high profile platform.
