Appointments bolster growth plans at Aker Qserv

Well intervention, process and pipeline services specialist Aker Qserv today announces two new appointments to sustain and enhance its long-term growth strategy, as it reaches a milestone in its integration into the global operations of Aker Solutions.

The company, formerly Qserv, was formally renamed Aker Qserv Ltd from 27 April 2009, to underpin the combined business capabilities of the new entity, its enhanced range of services, and affiliation with the multinational Aker family of companies.

Aker Qserv became part of global engineering and construction services group Aker Solutions last year. The link-up has already successfully delivered new integrated services across a range of well intervention disciplines.

“We became part of the Aker family, and specifically the Aker Solutions group, having established a proven track record in our target markets,” said Aker Qserv director Ciaran Dreelan.

“Over the period since the acquisition we have worked to ensure we make the most of the strategic fit between our respective services and we are now seeing the benefits of that.

“That integrated approach is set to develop further in terms of targeting work both in the North Sea and in international markets.

“The work to achieve the goals of the integration has been undertaken in great spirit and with a common vision, and we look forward to building on the many business opportunities this can offer.”

Graeme Wood has joined Aker Qserv as operations director – process and pipeline. Graeme was previously operations director with Vroon Offshore Services in Aberdeen, and prior to that held a series of senior project and operational management roles with major offshore services firms.

Garry Michie has been promoted by Aker Qserv from general manager to operations director – well services UK, having established an extensive operational track record in the sector.

Their appointments follow the announcement late last year that David Bowman had joined the company as international operations director.

Ciaran Dreelan added: “We are delighted to bring Graeme on board and deploy his extensive experience to bolster our service offering in a key area of activity and underpin our growth ambitions.

“Equally, Garry’s promotion to head up our domestic well services operations will serve to sustain and enhance our leading position in the market and ensure continuity in terms of delivery of quality services.

“These recent appointments put us in a great position to continue the success story of Aker Qserv in the North Sea and on a global basis.”
