Aker Qserv director named Grampian Entrepreneur of the Year

18 June 2010 – Ciairan Dreelan, director of specialist well intervention, process and pipeline service company Aker Qserv, has been named Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2010 Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise.

The Awards, which took place at Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen last night (June 17th), seek to encourage enterprise by selecting and rewarding entrepreneurial businesses and individuals that are capable of leading the future prosperity of Grampian.

The prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year accolade is awarded to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to their company, industry sector and the wider economy.

“The Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise represent a benchmark for business excellence in the north-east of Scotland so I am absolutely delighted to have won this award. The success of our business, which has grown over the last decade into a multi-disciplined service provider to the global oil and gas industry , is testament to the hard work and commitment of the Qserv team.”

Born in Ireland, Ciaran has 20 years experience in the oil and gas industry. Qserv was established in 2001 in response to the need for a truly multi service provider in the market place. In 2008, Qserv became part of Aker Solutions and is now known as Aker Qserv. The company’s core business remains in the North Sea, with significant activities throughout West Africa and Asia Pacific.

With a worldwide workforce of 550, Aker Qserv reached annual turnover of 71 million last year.
