Recognition for Aker Qserv in Northern Star Awards

The Aberdeen operation of Aker Qserv, part of the well intervention business of global engineering and construction services firm Aker Solutions, is celebrating after being shortlisted for a prestigious workforce development accolade in the Northern Star Business Awards 2011.

The business is in the running for the Commitment to People Development Award which recognises the company that has shown the most commitment to developing its staff through skills and personal development, investment and achievement programmes and outcomes.

Organised by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, the annual awards celebrate innovation, success and the achievements of individuals, companies and organisations from throughout the Grampian area.

The winners will be announced at a black tie dinner at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on October 6.
The event will be hosted by TV presenter Gaby Roslin and up to 1000 guests are expected to attend the ceremony – one of Scotland’s biggest business award ceremonies.

Simon Williams of Aker Qserv, said: “Being shortlisted for an award is a notable achievement so we are delighted that our commitment towards nurturing the talent of our people has seen us shortlisted for this awards. The investment we are making in the new generation of offshore personnel through our multi-service trainee course is something we are very proud of so it’s great to be recognised in this way.”
